ROCHELLE — Spring Lake Pool’s grand opening for the 2024 season will see a short delay, a press release from the Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District said.
Spring Lake initially planned to open Saturday, June 1, and now plans to open by Wednesday, June 5.
“While preparing the pool for summer fun, we encountered a hiccup with an underground pipe that needs a bit of TLC,” the press release said. “Because of this, the pool’s grand opening will be pushed back a few days from the originally scheduled June 1. We’re aiming to welcome everyone by June 5, and we’ll keep you posted if anything changes. Our team is working tirelessly to ensure everything is in tip-top shape as swiftly as possible.”
The park district also provided an update regarding its pool pass holders, swim team participants and splash pad users.
Pool pass uses can use their pass at The REC during Spring Lake’s open swim hours.
Swim team practices will temporarily shift to The REC from June 3-6. Usual times remain unchanged.
The Spring Lake splashpad remains open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., free of charge.
“We appreciate your understanding and patience as we ensure our pool is safe and perfect for everyone to enjoy,” the press release said. “We’re looking forward to making a splash with you all very soon!”
