ROCKFORD — The Rochelle Wrestling Club sent two athletes to the 2024 IKWF Senior/Novice State Championships at the BMO Center in Rockford over the weekend. Benjamin Morris medaled in seventh place at the Novice 154 Division, while Teddy Millard competed in the Novice 74 Division.
Morris went 3-2 over five matches at the state tournament, winning all three of his matches by fall. Morris received a first-round bye before notching a second-round fall over Demolition Wrestling Club's Noah Rouskey. After a loss in the quarterfinals, Morris rebounded with falls over BTS-Chicago/Avondale's Jack Wahtola and DC Wrestling Club's Ashton Hardin to finish seventh.
Millard wrestled two matches in the state tournament, finishing 0-2.
