ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub fresh-soph baseball team teed off its season on Monday, falling 12-9 against Ottawa. The Hubs (0-1) will play at Ottawa on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Brandon Moody started on the mound for Rochelle, striking out six batters in four innings pitched. Alex Burnette entered in relief, fanning four hitters in three innings.
Christian Burnette led the Hub offense, going 2-for-4 with a home run and one RBI. Five Rochelle players recorded RBIs including Burnette, Alex Burnette, Garrett Gensler, Cody Eichinger and Noah Lara.
