MACHESNEY PARK — The Rochelle boys track and field program battled in the Northern Illinois Invitational at Harlem on Friday. The Hubs placed 11th with 21 points in the varsity meet while also taking 11th with 11 points in the fresh-soph meet.
Varsity
Senior Connor Lenkaitis finished seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.36 seconds and junior Gyvanziel Quinonez placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.77. Junior Santi Cordoba placed 10th in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:51.95 and senior Ryan Friestad took 10th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.74. Senior Dylan Finkboner finished ninth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.50.
Rochelle finished fifth in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 3:34.10 and the Hubs placed 11th in the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:40.03. Rochelle placed seventh in the 3200-meter relay with a time of 9:27.87. Senior Mason DeLille took first place in the triple jump with a mark of 42-8 and sixth in the high jump with a clearance of 5-7. Junior Aaron Vondergathen finished seventh in the pole vault with a height of 10-2.
Fresh-Soph
Freshman Michael Ramsey finished ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.42 and freshman Shepard Hayes took 12th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.64. Freshman Josue Huerta placed ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.75 and eighth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:13.78. Freshman Luke Orlikowski finished 13th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.78.
Sophomore Trevor Goodwin placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.52 and third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.28. Goodwin finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 40-2 ¼. Sophomore Oscar Aguirre placed 13th in the shot put with a mark of 31-8 and ninth in the discus with a mark of 93-8. Freshman Bryton DiSimoni placed 12th in the long jump with a mark of 15-4 ½.
