STERLING — Junior Connor Lenkaitis earned his shot at the varsity level when the Hubs golf team faced the Sterling Golden Warriors on the road Tuesday evening.
Lenkaitis stepped up in the absence of junior Hayden Jones, who missed Tuesday’s match due to an illness. The junior shot 50 for Rochelle’s fourth-best score of the day, with senior Noah Griffith leading the way with 41. Rochelle shot 186, while Sterling totaled 166 to win the match by 20 strokes.
Senior Garrett Glosser added 47 to help lead Rochelle on Tuesday, with freshman Megan Thiravong chipping in 48. The Hubs will return to Sterling on Saturday for tournament action at Emerald Hills.
