Rochelle Rampage hosted the Hub City Basebrawl this past weekend, with the 11U Rochelle Rampage team going 4-0 to win the tournament. 11U defeated DeKalb’s DC Lightning 11-7 in the championship game on a walk-off grand slam by Erich Metzger. Rochelle trailed 7-6 before scoring one run in the sixth inning to force extras.

11U squad goes 4-0 to win championship on Metzger's walk-off grand slam

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Rampage hosted the Hub City Basebrawl this past weekend, with the 11U Rochelle Rampage team going 4-0 to win the tournament. 11U defeated DeKalb’s DC Lightning 11-7 in the championship game on a walk-off grand slam by Erich Metzger. Rochelle trailed 7-6 before scoring one run in the sixth inning to force extras.

11U won over Tribe Athletics (12-2) and DC Lightning (6-5) in pool play on Saturday before defeating G-K Generals 10-0 in the bracket semifinals and winning the title over DC Lightning. 11U went 4-0 over the weekend. The team includes head coach Joe Tourdot, Christian Burnette, Elijah Harley, Elias Koonce, Carson Lewis, Brandyn Metzger, Brode Metzger, Erich Metzger, Anlun Meyers, Tommy Tourdot, Xavier Villalobos, Brandt Waters and Grant Gensler.

Rochelle Rampage 13U also played this past weekend, going 0-3 with two losses by respective scores of 6-4 and 11-3 to LeeCounty Bat Breakers and StormChasers Baseball in pool play. 13U lost 7-4 against Stateline Thunder in the first round of bracket play.

Both Rochelle Rampage 12U and 14U played the weekend of April 21-22, with 12U going 2-2 and advancing to the championship game before falling 3-2 against Roy Gale Royals. 12U defeated Dixon 15-0 and lost 4-2 to Twin City Raiders in pool play, and 12U won 12-1 over Twin City Raiders in the bracket semifinals.

Two 14U teams represented Rochelle Rampage, with Rampage White going 0-3 in the tournament and Rampage Purple finishing 1-2 overall. Rampage White lost 14-2 to Aurora Thunder and 14-0 to Dixon Rebels in pool play before falling 10-2 to Dixon Rebels in the bracket semifinals. Rampage Purple won 7-6 over Aurora Thunder but lost 15-2 to Dixon Rebels in pool play and 6-3 to Aurora Thunder in the bracket semifinals.
