A new year at the library

Happy New Year! 2024 is here and the library is extremely busy with cool new programs for you.  The library is your community headquarters where you can come to read and participate in many fun activities.  You can check out our book selection and pick something that interests you.  We have books on many different subjects and they are all waiting to go home with you today.  If you want a library card and live in Rochelle, you need something with a picture and something with your name and current address on it.  With those two pieces of identification, your world can open with a book and your imagination can soar. We will see you soon.

To start the 2024 year, we have many programs starting for all ages.

Story Time - For ages up to seven years with a caregiver.  Jan. 17 and 31 at 10:15 a.m. and 5 p.m.  It’s January!  Time for ice, snow, cold wind and stories about yetis, snow people and also popcorn!  Beat the cabin fever and come to the library for stories and activities!

Books With Friends - This unconventional book group welcomes all friends ages 8-13. Jan. 16 and 30 at 4 p.m.  In this group we talk about all types of books from graphic novels to poetry.  Don’t like to read? No problem!  We also do fun activities!  Come check us out!

Come to our Seed Library Kick Off Event on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 2-4 p.m.  Join the library and Master Gardeners of Ogle County as we unveil our new seed library.  We will have gardening activities for all ages and abilities as well as an introduction to the seed library. Check our website for more information about our new Community Seed Library. We are partnering with Ogle County 4-H to bring our community a new gardening 4-H SPIN Club.  More information will be coming soon.

We have a list of more programs throughout February, March, April and May.  Check our website and Facebook pages for the most up to date information.  Come and see what your library is all about and remember…..keep reading!
