ROCHELLE — The Illinois State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5 just east of Interstate 39 on Illinois Route 38 in Rochelle.
According to the ISP report, Terrence L. Bowers, 55, of Rochelle, was driving a 2017 Dodge Caravan eastbound on Illinois Route 38 and attempted to pass a 2013 Hyundai Elantra driven by Bruce D. Ellison, 64, of Loves Park, when Bowers lost control of the vehicle and struck the front of Ellison’s vehicle, causing both vehicles to overturn.
Bowers was transported to the Rochelle Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and cited for improper lane usage. Ellison refused treatment at the scene.
The ISP was assisted on scene by the Rochelle Police Department, Ogle County Sheriff’s Department and the Rochelle Fire Department.
