ROCHELLE - Library director Sarah Flanagan announced the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17.

"In response to President Trump’s declaration of a State of Emergency and Governor Pritzker’s decision to close all Illinois K-12 schools, the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library will follow the Rochelle schools' schedule and temporarily close in an effort to enforce social distancing and to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus," she said. "We will be CLOSED beginning Tuesday, March 17, through Monday, March 30. All due dates for materials will be extended. No fines will accrue on books due during this time."

She added that the closure is based on safety for the community.

"Safety is our biggest concern, closing for this amount of time is not something that we take lightly. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time," she said. "We will be open during normal hours Monday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., so if you need to come in please do."
