Man arrested for unlawful possession

On Nov. 19 at approximately 8:37 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of N. Illinois Route 2 and Town Hall Road. After investigation, Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jacob M. Powell, 29, of Sterling, for possession of a controlled substance. Powell was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.
On Nov. 21 at approximately 5:58 a.m., Ogle County deputies along with Mt. Morris Fire Department, Mt. Morris EMS and Oregon EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Mud Creek Road and Rock Road. After an investigation it was learned that Andrew D. Stroud, 22, of Mt. Morris, failed to stop at the stop intersection, where he struck an oncoming vehicle. Stroud and his passenger Nolan M. Wortman, 21, of Stillman Valley were transported to KSB hospital for non life threating injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, 17-year-old male, from Mt. Morris, was transported to KSB hospital by Oregon EMS. The vehicles were removed from the location by D&W Towing and Neilson’s Towing. Stroud was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Stroud was given an I-bond and released to hospital staff for treatment.
On Nov. 25, Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Alondra Rodriguez, 27, of Dixon, for driving without a valid license. Rodriguez was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies on Interstate 39 near Illinois Route 64 after being stopped for speeding. Rodriguez was released on a I-bond.
