ROCHELLE — Nancy Lee Ann Capes, 69, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.  Nancy was born on January 26, 1955 in Winona, Minnesota, the daughter of Merlin and Marjorie (Schreiber) Feltes.  On May 4, 1974, she married Duane Capes in Rochelle.  They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

Nancy was the office manager for Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Cooling for many years.  She loved spending time in the sun and with her grandchildren. Time in her pool was always a favorite.  She also enjoyed going to the casino to try her luck.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Duane of Rochelle; three sons: Chad (Ashley) Capes, Clint (Melissa) Capes both of Rochelle and Colby (Maggie Schutz) Capes of Chicago, IL; two brothers: Tom (Cindy) Feltes of Winona, MN and Michael (Linette) Feltes of Rochelle; three grandchildren: Danielle Capes, Zachary (Sarah Does) Capes and Hayden Capes and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 14, 2024 at The 302 (Ralphies’ Barbecue) 410 Cherry Avenue, Rochelle.  Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle.  Memorials may be made in Nancy’s memory to Serenity Hospice and Home or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
