Ogle County Sheriff's Report: April 30-May 4

On April 30 at 10 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover in the 17000 block of West Illinois Route 52. After conducting an investigation, Devin Rogers, 29, Dixon, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Rogers also was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Rogers was transported to KSB Hospital in Dixon where she was released on an individual bond and given a future court date. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Polo Fire/EMS. 

May 1

On May 1 at 6:30 p.m., deputies along with the Mount Morris Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at Ill. Route 64 at Rock Road. Upon completing an investigation, it was discovered Javier Maldonado and Marangely Diaz were traveling westbound on Ill. Route 64 in a grey Ford Edge. While attempting to turn northbound onto Rock Road their vehicle was struck from behind by a white GMC Acadia driven by Eric Callaway. Diaz was transported by ambulance to KSB Hospital in Dixon to be treated for suspected minor injuries. Based upon evidence collected at the scene and witness statements, Callaway was determined to be at fault and subsequently cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

May 2

On May 2 at 12:40 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at Mulberry Avenue and Center Street in Mount Morris. Upon further investigation, the driver, Ellis Kereven-Roby, 22, Rockford, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while license suspended. Kereven-Roby was additionally cited for improper use of registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Kereven-Roby was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

On May 2 at 6:15 p.m., deputies, along with Rochelle EMS, were dispatched to the area of Skare Road at Flagg Road outside Rochelle for the report of a UTV rollover with injuries. After an investigation, it was determined the UTV was driven by one juvenile, who had five juvenile passengers. The juveniles were driving the UTV on private property, and overturned after trying to navigate a turn on a hill. Two male juvenile passengers were transported by Rochelle EMS to Rochelle Community Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The four other juveniles were not injured. The incident occurred on private property and no citations were issued.

May 4

On May 4 at 1:35 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 8,400 block of North Pecatonica Road in reference to a motorist assist. After an investigation, deputies arrested Donald Gary, III, 22, Rockford, for obstructing justice, resisting a peace officer and no valid driver's license. Gary was also issued multiple equipment and traffic violations. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu if bond.  

On May 4, the Ogle County Sheriff's Office arrested Yushuwa Lukalula, 25, Rockford, for driving without a valid driver's license. Lukalula was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for speeding. Lukalula was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
