On Aug. 21 at approximately 7:27 p.m. deputies and the Byron Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident in the 10,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. An preliminary investigation determined a southbound vehicle driven by Sandra Koutlemanis, 51, of Des Plaines, traveled off the west edge of the roadway. The vehicle then overcorrected and entered the east ditch where it traveled down a small embankment before coming to a rest. Koutlemanis was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Byron Fire/EMS for treatment of minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

OREGON – On Aug. 21 at approximately 7:27 p.m. deputies and the Byron Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident in the 10,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. An preliminary investigation determined a southbound vehicle driven by Sandra Koutlemanis, 51, of Des Plaines, traveled off the west edge of the roadway. The vehicle then overcorrected and entered the east ditch where it traveled down a small embankment before coming to a rest. Koutlemanis was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Byron Fire/EMS for treatment of minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

On Aug. 21 at 12:24 a.m. deputies and Lynn-Scott-Rock EMS were dispatched to North Walnut Street at West 2nd Street in Lindenwood for vehicle pulled over on the side of the road, and the male driver, later identified as Gary Brenton, 33, of Woodstock, experiencing a medical emergency. Brenton was checked by EMS and signed a refusal. After an investigation, Brenton was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicating compounds (drugs/alcohol), possession of controlled substance 15-100 grams (heroin) and possession with intent to deliver 15-100 grams (heroin). Brenton was also issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Brenton was transported to the Ogle County Jail until his appearance before a judge.

On Aug. 22 at 5:15 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1,000 block of South Daysville Road for an equipment violation. After an investigation, Veronica Tabares, 35, of Sterling was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Tabares was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no front license plate and improper use of registration. Tabares was released on a $2,500 I-Bond.

On Aug. 24 deputies arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Rockford for driving with no license. The juvenile was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for speeding 101 m.p.h.. The juvenile was issued an I-Bond and released to his parents. He will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.
