On Feb. 25 at approximately 10:02 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Route 38 and Mulford Road. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Juan Manuel Huertes-Ceballos, 43, of LaSalle, for no valid driver’s license. Huertes-Ceballos was taken into custody without incident and released on a $2,500 or 10 percent individual bond with a return court date. Huertes-Ceballos was also issued a citation for illegal window tint.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Feb. 25-March 1

OREGON — On Feb. 25 at approximately 10:02 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Route 38 and Mulford Road. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Juan Manuel Huertes-Ceballos, 43, of LaSalle, for no valid driver’s license. Huertes-Ceballos was taken into custody without incident and released on a $2,500 or 10 percent individual bond with a return court date. Huertes-Ceballos was also issued a citation for illegal window tint.  

On Feb. 25 at 11:32 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Mud Creek Road and North Illinois Route 2. After a brief investigation, Jaime Carter, 40, of Oregon was arrested for driving while license revoked and possession of methamphetamine (class three felony). Carter was transported to Ogle County Jail where she was being held pending an appearance before a judge.

On Feb. 26 at approximately 8:32 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 39 at mile marker 109 northbound. Upon further investigation Shundell Brown, 25, of Rockford, was arrested for no valid driver’s license. Shundell was released on an I-Bond with a future court date given. Shundell was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no child restraint, and possession of cannabis. ​

On Feb. 26 at approximately 8:21 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at North Main Street and Illinois Route 38 in Creston. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Jorge Cabrera, 32, of Rochelle, for driving while license suspended. Cabrera was taken into custody without incident and released on a $2,500 or 10 percent individual bond with a return court date set. Cabrera was also issued citations for illegal window tint and operating uninsured motor vehicle. ​

On Feb. 26 at 8:02 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 at mile marker 99. After a short investigation, deputies arrested Austin Sumner, 28, of Washington, Illinois for driving while license suspended and improper cannabis container. Sumner also received citations for one tail light, no insurance and failure to change address. Sumner was released on scene and will appear in court at a later date.  

On Feb. 26 at 10:55 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 at mile marker 104, and after a short investigation arrested Asia Harron, 65, of Rockford for no valid license. Herron was released on scene and will appear in court on April 1 at 9 a.m.  

On Feb. 27 approximately 12:56 a.m. deputies, Byron Police and Byron Fire Department responded to Tower Road and Mill Road for a one-vehicle accident involving injury. After investigation, deputies learned that a white Buick sedan driven by Jess Smith, 23, of Winnebago, was traveling west on Tower Road and failed to negotiate the curve. The Buick left the roadway in the south ditch and received heavy damage from striking an embankment. Smith was transported to a local hospital for suspected minor injuries. The front seat passenger McKenna Hawkins, 23, of Winnebago, was also transported to a local hospital for suspected serious injuries. Smith was later placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Smith was also cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed, no insurance and failure to use seatbelt. Smith was released on an individual bond with a return court date issued. 

On Feb. 27 at 4:18 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,700 block of North David Court in Oregon. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Charles Peterson, 42, of Pecatonica for driving while license suspended. Peterson was taken into custody without incident and released on a $2,500 or 10 percent individual bond with a return court date. Peterson was also issued citations for no front registration and expired registration.

On Feb. 27 at approximately 8:37 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Illinois Route 251 for speeding. Upon further investigation, deputies arrested Jason Mireles, 41, of Rochelle for possession of a controlled substance (crack cocaine). Additionally, Ryan Fenton, 31, of Oregon, was arrested for an Ogle County warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle. Both individuals were transported the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.

On Feb. 27 at 11:30 p.m. deputies arrested Jacob Saenz, 18, of Rockford for driving with no valid driver's license. Deputies arrested Saenz on Illinois Route 251 near Scott Road after he was stopped for speeding. Saenz was released on a I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

On March 1 at approximately 12:05 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 northbound near mile marker 110. Upon further investigation, Lucero Montalvo, 30, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving while license revoked. Montalvo was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and no rear registration light. Montalvo was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she is was held in lieu of bond.
