On Jan. 22 at 10:54 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies, along with Rochelle Police Department were dispatched to Illinois Route 251 at Twombly Road in reference to fa hit and run accident. After an investigation, it was determined that Anselmo Carranza-Sanchez, 22, of Rockford, was driving southbound in the northbound lane on Illinois Route 251 just north of Twombly Road. Anselmo struck a vehicle while in the other lane and continued southbound. Anselmo was located driving southbound on Seventh Street in Rochelle and was arrested for driving on a revoked license, driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash and other traffic citations. Anselmo was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. No injuries were reported in the crash. On Jan. 21, Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Shayvonne Lewis, 27, of Rockford, for driving with no valid license. Lewis was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies on Illinois Route 251 near Edson Road after being stopped for a lane violation. Lewis was released on an I-bond and will appear in court at a later date.
