On July 20 at approximately 11:56 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Route 72 and Mt. Vernon Road in rural Shannon. After further investigation, Tori Adams, 26, of Freeport, was placed under arrest for driving while license revoked. Adams was also cited for a broken tail light. Adams was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. A passenger in the vehicle, Johnathon Watkins, 30, of Freeport, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and released on an I-Bond.

On July 20 at 7:12 p.m. deputies and the Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department were dispatched to the 20,000 block of East Illinois Route 64 in rural Esmond for a single unit motorcycle crash with injuries. Upon arrival to the scene, it was determined a black 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle was driving westbound on East Illinois Route 64 before exiting the roadway and overturning in the north ditch. The driver of the motorcycle, Corey D. Kelchner of Rochelle, was transported by Lynn-Scott-Rock Ambulance to Javon Bea Hospital-Riverside in Rockford treatment of serious injuries. Corey was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving under the influence of alcohol. Kelchner was issued an I-Bond and released. The accident remains under investigation. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Illinois State Police.
On July 21 at 3:32 p.m. deputies, along with the Oregon Fire Department and Oregon Ambulance responded to the 4,400 block of South Illinois Route 2 for a report of a semi vs. pedestrian accident. Upon investigation deputies learned that Patricia A. Jones, 86, of Oregon, was walking across Route 2 from east to west. As Jones was crossing the road, she was struck by a northbound semi that was driven by Eric H. Rivera, 61, of Lehigh Acres, Florida. Jones was flown by React Helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Rockford for treatment of serious injuries. Rivera was not injured in the incident. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Oregon Police Department and the Illinois State Police. The incident remains under investigation.
On July 21 at 4:45 p.m. deputies responded to the report of a domestic disturbance at 5167 N. Blackwood Rd. After investigating the disturbance, Matthew L. Hurst, 36, of Rochelle was arrested for domestic battery and felony criminal damage to property. Hurst was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.
On July 23 at approximately 2:54 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Illinois Route 2 and Illinois Route 72. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Donovan M. Goble, 37, of Rockford for unlawful possession of cannabis (over 100 grams) a class 4 felony, and improper container (driver). Goble was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with no bond. Goble was additionally cited for speeding.
