On March 11 at 1:10 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of North Illinois Route 251 for expired registration. After a brief investigation, Juma Mrisho, 29, of Rockford was arrested for driving while license suspended. Mrisho was taken into custody and released on a $2,500 or 10 percent I-Bond with a return court date. Mrisho was also issued citations for expired registration and driving while uninsured.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: March 11-14

OREGON — On March 11 at 1:10 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of North Illinois Route 251 for expired registration. After a brief investigation, Juma Mrisho, 29, of Rockford was arrested for driving while license suspended. Mrisho was taken into custody and released on a $2,500 or 10 percent I-Bond with a return court date. Mrisho was also issued citations for expired registration and driving while uninsured.

On March 13 deputies arrested Samuel Nieva Rodriguez, 20, of Rockford for driving with no valid driver's license. Nieva was arrested by deputies on Interstate 39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for speeding. Nieva was released on a I-Bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

On March 13 at approximately 12:55 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black Nissan Frontier in the 3,700 block of North Leaf River Road for improper traffic lane usage. After investigation, the driver, Steven Maronde, 53, of Leaf River, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Maronde was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Maronde was also cited for improper lane usage. 

On March 14 at approximately 6:34 p.m. Rochelle EMS/Fire, Flagg Center Fire Department and deputies were dispatched to the area of 12,000 East Flagg Road for the report of a one-vehicle accident with injuries. After an investigation, it was determined that a black Nissan Altima driven by Robert Trumbull, 76, of Rochelle, left the roadway traveling eastbound in the 12,000 block of East Flagg Road and entered into the north ditch. The Nissan drove over two culverts in the north side ditch and came to rest after striking a creek embankment. Trumbull was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

On March 14 at approximately 7:52 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at East Illinois Route 64 and Mulford Road. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Rudy Dozal, 46, of Rockford, for no valid driver’s license. Dozal was taken into custody without incident and released on an individual bond with a return court date set. Dozal was also issued a citation for an inoperable rear registration light. ​
