MAPLE PARK — The Rochelle Hub varsity soccer team conceded nine unanswered goals against Kaneland on Wednesday, falling 10-2 and dropping to 4-4 on the season. Senior Josue Orozco and sophomore Diego Salazar each scored one goal in the match.
Kaneland and Rochelle traded goals in the fourth and sixth minutes to even the match at 1-1. The two teams each scored goals soon after, with the Hubs surging ahead in the 11th minute before the Knights equalized in the 20th minute.
Rochelle had no answers for the Kaneland offense, which added a goal in the 22nd minute and two goals in the 24th minute to take a 5-2 lead. Five more goals over the last 35 minutes of play helped seal the Kaneland win.
