ROCHELLE — The Hubs varsity tennis team hosted Dixon on Monday, with the Rochelle boys falling by a final score of 4-1 to drop to 3-7 on the season. Rochelle will play at Yorkville on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Senior Noah Griffith took home victory at No. 1 singles for Rochelle, defeating Dixon’s Holden Longan by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Senior Kevin Zheng fell against Dixon’s Jonathan Rivera at No. 2 singles 5-7, 1-6.
Junior Juan Montemayor and Hector Garcia lost at No. 1 doubles to Dixon’s Jason Rugh and Daniel Ferguson 1-6, 0-6 while senior Jesus Nava and junior Emilio Nava fell at No. 2 doubles against Dixon’s Ryan Lawton and Luke Stees 7-5, 1-6, 4-10. Sophomores Sean Flanagan and Gabe Nava were downed by Dixon’s Dylan Messer and Noah Grot at No. 3 singles 1-6, 0-6.
