ROCHELLE — Representatives from the Rochelle Community Park District along with members of the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce held a rededication ceremony and ribbon cutting Friday afternoon at Spring Lake Pool.
The celebration commemorated the recent improvement projects including the new wooden decking and filtration system at the popular Rochelle attraction. The event featured games, activities, music, contests, and giveaways and free admission for the community.
First opening in 1981, this year Spring Lake has 35 employees including maintenance, concession stand and 14 lifeguards on staff.
Member of the Rochelle Rays Swim Team also joined along with Mayor Chet Olson, Michelle Antolik, Aquatic Manager, and Marianne Swanson, Rochelle Rays Manager at the ceremony.
Pool hours are Monday through Thursday from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., Friday from 12:30 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per day for children ages 4 and up and $2 for children 3 and under. Adult swim is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
