DEKALB — Junior Kevin Orozco and senior Alberto Casillas each scored two goals to lead the Rochelle Hub varsity soccer team during Saturday’s nonconference match against DeKalb.

Senior Fernando Diaz added one goal and one assist for the Hubs, who overcame deficits in both shots and shots on goal to beat the Barbs 5-3. Rochelle (4-4-1, 0-1 Interstate 8) won the match despite DeKalb owning a 29-16 advantage in shots and a 21-8 advantage in shots on goal. Junior Antonio Hueramo recorded eight saves for the Hubs, who will resume their conference schedule with a road match against the Kaneland Knights on Monday evening.

Orozco scored in the 47th minute to give the Hubs a 1-0 lead over the Barbs in the second half. Rochelle extended its advantage after Orozco assisted Casillas in the 53rd minute, but DeKalb answered with a goal in the 57th minute. Diaz and Orozco connected for a goal in the 60th minute and DeKalb answered with a goal in the 70th minute to bring the match to a 3-2 count.

The Hubs clinched their win behind a goal from Diaz in the 74th minute and a goal from Casillas in the 80th minute. Casillas finished with five shots and three shots on goal, while Diaz totaled four shots and two shots on goal. Orozco compiled three shots and two shots on goal.
