STREATOR — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity tennis team took two of the three doubles matches during its nonconference road match against Streator on Saturday afternoon.

Seniors Catherine Williams and Erin Murphy cruised for a 6-2, 6-2 win over Indy Hernandez and Joyce Walking at the No. 1 doubles court. Seniors Abby Metzger and Lauren Dyer united for a hard-fought victory over Audrey Arawbwa and Audrey Mahan at the No. 2 doubles court, outlasting the Streator duo for a 7-6(4), 5-7, 10-6 win. The Bulldogs took both singles matches as well as the No. 3 doubles match, however, lifting Streator to a 3-2 win over the Lady Hubs.

Senior Yaretzi Villalobos fell 0-6, 0-6 against Maddie Wahl at the No. 1 singles court. Senior Kendyl Darby took one game in a 1-6, 0-6 loss against Isabelle Gutierrez at the No. 2 singles court. Seniors Natalie Wagner and Sydney Carmichael nearly won their No. 3 doubles match against Annie Michlik and Aubrey DeMoss, falling just short in a 3-6, 6-1, 4-10 defeat. Rochelle (2-5, 1-1 Interstate 8) will return to action with a home match against Dixon on Monday.
