On Sept. 24 at approximately noon, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North River Road. After investigation, deputies placed Christy Oleson, 34, of Oregon under arrest for driving while license suspended. Oleson was released on a notice to appear at the scene and given a future court date.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 24-26, 2024

OREGON — On Sept. 24 at approximately noon, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North River Road. After investigation, deputies placed Christy Oleson, 34, of Oregon under arrest for driving while license suspended. Oleson was released on a notice to appear at the scene and given a future court date.

On Sept. 25 at approximately 8:54 p.m. deputies, along with the Stillman Fire Department, responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident, near the intersection of Meridian Road and Weld Park Road. After an investigation, deputies learned that a maroon Cadillac driven by Michael J. Williams, 38, of Rochelle, left the roadway and overturned in the south ditch. Williams was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

On Sept. 25 at approximately 11:44 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Route 38 and Center Road. After further investigation a passenger in the vehicle, William Mongan, 31, of Rochelle, was placed under arrest for an outstanding Hamilton County, Indiana arrest warrant. Mongan was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending extradition.

On Sept. 26 at approximately 5:18 p.m. deputies, along with Polo Fire Department, responded to a two-vehicle accident, at the intersection of Illinois Route 26 and Cavanaugh Road. After an investigation, deputies learned a silver Mercedes driven by Daniel I. Cerda, 18, of Asbury, Iowa disregarded the stop sign and struck a red Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Donald G. Engelbarts, 88, of Polo. All parties involved were uninjured.  Cerda was cited for disobeying a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
