ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub sophomore basketball team saw two players reach double figures in scoring against LaSalle-Peru on Friday. Raul Aguirre led the Hubs with 14 points, while Griffin Ohlinger added 12 points including two 3-pointers in the team’s 53-45 loss to the Cavaliers.
LaSalle-Peru led 29-23 after the first half before extending its lead in the third quarter, where the Cavaliers held Rochelle to only five points. The Hubs hit three triples in the fourth quarter courtesy of Ohlinger, Dylan Gapski and Daniel Monfils, who had seven points in the game. David Gerber chipped in five points for Rochelle.
The Hubs will play their next home game on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. against Sandwich after facing Kaneland on the road this weekend.
