ROCHELLE — The Hubs freshman baseball team won its second consecutive game of the season this past Saturday, taking down the Streator Bulldogs by a score of 10-6 to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Gavin Ansteth went 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in the leadoff spot, while No. 2 and No. 3 hitters Nick Albers and Charlie Jandak combined to go 5-for-8 in the game with three RBIs including two by Jandak, who notched two doubles and also stole a base. Louie Mancinas hit a double to plate two runs, and three more Hubs wound up with at least one RBI including Seth Gould, Devlen Buh and Quinton Casey.
The freshmen trailed 6-0 after the top of the fifth inning, but Rochelle even the game at 6-6 in the bottom of the fifth before adding four more runs in the sixth inning. Mancinas pitched the final two innings of the game and earned the victory for the Hubs, striking out one while surrendering just two hits.
