LASALLE — The Rochelle varsity girls tennis team played its second match in as many days against LaSalle-Peru on Tuesday, with the Lady Hubs falling by a score of 5-0 to drop to 0-6 on the season.
Junior Ruth Gardner won one game in her 0-6, 1-6 loss against LaSalle-Peru’s Nena Perry at No. 1 singles while junior Caitlin McMurray took two games in a 1-6, 1-6 loss to Sterling Turget at No. 2 singles. Seniors Jasmine Rissman and Ashlynn Leininger were shut out in a 0-6, 0-6 loss against LaSalle-Peru’s Arisu Oya and Grace Filipiak at No. 1 doubles.
Sophomores Mindy Pelayo and Melanie Gonzalez claimed four games in a 2-6, 2-6 loss to Michelle Windy and Olivia Ernat at No. 2 doubles with freshmen Josie Lundquist and MeLisa Young earning two games in their 2-6, 0-6 loss against LaSalle-Peru’s Tyler Kroll and Amy Ernat at No. 3 doubles.
LaSalle-Peru won the junior varsity match over Rochelle 5-0. Txell Samaranch (0-6, 0-6) and Sawyer McGee (1-6, 3-6) each took losses at No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles, while Emma Hicks and Jordin Dickey fell 0-6, 1-6 at No. 1 doubles. Riley Flanagan and Anna Guevara (1-6, 1-6) lost at No. 2 doubles while Ella Seebach and Hailey Miller (2-6, 0-6) fell at No. 3 doubles.
