ROCHELLE — The Hubs sophomore baseball team dominated the Geneseo Maple Leafs on Thursday, winning by a final score of 20-9 to take the three-game series and improve to 9-5-1 on the season.
Hayden Jones turned in a monster performance at the dish, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and a team-high five RBIs to lead the Rochelle offense. Anthony Hueramo went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, while freshman Gavin Ansteth doubled, singled and drove in three runs.
Cody Johnson struck out nine batters in four and two-thirds innings of work, and Johnson totaled a team-high four hits at the plate with four runs scored. Zack Bernardin, Brandon Johnson, Noah Knight and Louie Mancinas each recorded one RBI in the win.
