ROCHELLE — Looking to rebound from a tough loss to the Morris Redskins on Tuesday, the Lady Hubs varsity softball team returned to Rochelle Township High School on Thursday for another conference battle, this time against the Ottawa Lady Pirates.
Rochelle scored at least one run in three of the five innings played on Thursday, with two runs coming in the third inning of a 20-4 loss to Ottawa. Senior Christina Payton continued to see the ball well at the plate, going 3-for-3 to lead the Lady Hub offense.
Juniors Faith Roush and Jessie Meyers went 2-for-2, while juniors Teddi Hacaga and Britney Salinas combined to go 2-for-5 at the dish. Senior Jovana DeLaTorre went 1-for-1 with a single and a sacrifice fly. The loss drops the Lady Hubs to 1-13 on the season.
