ROCHELLE — The Lady Hubs varsity soccer team played its final two games of the regular season this week, with the Rochelle girls facing LaSalle-Peru on the road Wednesday before returning home for Senior Night against Sterling on Thursday.
The Lady Hubs recorded their first multi-goal game since April 23 when the girls fell at LaSalle-Peru by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday. Senior Alyssa Cepeda scored Rochelle’s first goal on an assist by junior Olivia Piloni, and senior Ana Angeles recorded her first goal of the season off an assist by freshman Vianey Perusquia. Sophomore Viviana Belmonte totaled nine saves.
Rochelle’s final regular season game resulted in a 7-0 loss against Sterling on Thursday. Belmonte added 10 saves for the Lady Hubs, while Piloni led with three shots on goal. Rochelle is now 1-15-1 overall and the girls received the No. 9 seed in the IHSA Class 2A Regional at Burlington Central. Rochelle will play No. 8 seed IMSA on the road this weekend.
