STERLING — The Rochelle Little League 8-10 Softball All-Stars went 0-2 in the District 19 Championship at Gartner Park this past week. The girls fell 21-10 against Sterling before losing 18-3 against Freeport.
Game 1
Rochelle scored five runs in the first inning. Camryn Metzger reached on a hit-by-pitch before Briel Metzger singled and Jaylyn Pointer walked. Nazeria Dean doubled and Emma Heller walked to continue the rally, while Rylin Tabor also drew a walk.
Rochelle went scoreless in the second inning before totaling four runs in the third inning. Dean singled and both Heller, Audrina Rodriguez, Jillian Bruns, Leiya Smith and Camryn Metzger all drew walks. Heller walked and scored for Rochelle in the fourth inning.
