The Lady Hubs varsity bowling team competed in its fourth meet in four days on Thursday, and the Rochelle girls nearly took victory away from the Oregon Hawks at T-Byrd Lanes. The Lady Hubs fell just short by a score of 2,834-2,802 to drop to 3-10 on the season.

ROCHELLE — The Lady Hubs varsity bowling team competed in its fourth meet in four days on Thursday, and the Rochelle girls nearly took victory away from the Oregon Hawks at T-Byrd Lanes. The Lady Hubs fell just short by a score of 2,834-2,802 to drop to 3-10 on the season.
Oregon edged Rochelle 904-883 in the first game with Caitlyn Kaltenbrun rolling 188 to lead the Hawks. Senior Katie Dummer shot 258 for the Lady Hubs, while senior Carlie Elder added 190 for the Lady Hubs.
The Hawks took another close game in the second matchup 989-936 behind 254 from Caitlyn Kaltenbrun and 181 from Hannah Kaltenbrun. Senior Hope Palmer rolled Rochelle’s high score of 214 and Dummer added 208.
Rochelle won the third game 983-941 but the girls were just a few pins short of the series victory. Dummer totaled 181 for a series of 647, and Elder shot 197 and 202 over her final two games to record 589. Palmer chipped in 534 for the Lady Hubs.
