HAMPSHIRE — After taking down Belvidere South in the first phase of the North Central Junior Conference Tournament, the Rochelle Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team returned to Burlington Central Middle School on Saturday for the final rounds of postseason action.
The Royals faced Prairie Knolls in the morning, with Rochelle battling hard but losing by a score of 30-19. Josie Lundquist led the girls with eight points, while MeLisa Young added four points for RMS.
The Royals bounced back to take down Belvidere Central 37-25 and finish the conference tournament in third place. Sylvia Hasz recorded 12 points and 16 rebounds, while Zoey Tabor chipped in six points and six rebounds.
The seventh-graders finished the season with an overall record of 15-4.
