SYCAMORE — Things got a little chippy Tuesday night when the Lady Hubs varsity basketball team traveled to Sycamore High School for a Northern Illinois Big 12 game against the Lady Spartans.
In a hard-fought game where the officials let the girls battle it out, the Lady Hubs trailed by just four points entering the fourth quarter. But the Lady Spartans hung on long enough to top the Rochelle squad, winning by a score of 54-46.
“It was extremely tight throughout the game,” head coach Tony Rowan said. “I don’t think it stretched out to more than seven or eight points the entire game. The girls did a phenomenal job executing offensively and defensively.”
Sophomore Abby Lundquist and Sycamore freshman Kylie Feuerbach stole the show Tuesday night, with the two girls combining for 52 of the 100 points scored in the game. Feuerbach led the Lady Spartans with 30, while Lundquist put in 22 on 8-of-16 shooting for Rochelle.
