OREGON — The Rochelle sophomore volleyball team finished 2-1 over three matches to place third in the Oregon Invitational on Saturday. The Lady Hubs defeated Hall in two games (25-18, 25-23) before falling against Milledgeville (21-25, 8-25) and downing Ashton-Franklin Center (27-25, 25-20) to take third place.
Freshman Sylvia Hasz totaled 11 kills, seven aces and two blocks in the tournament, while sophomore Morgan Haas led Rochelle with 14 kills while adding five aces. Freshman Allie Tyrrell-Martin recorded seven kills, five aces and one block, with sophomore Ellie Kinn chipping in five aces, three kills and one block.
Freshmen
The Rochelle freshman volleyball team traveled for the Sterling Invitational on Saturday, going 1-3 over four matches. The Lady Hub freshmen are now 3-8 on the season.
Rochelle began the tournament with a three-game victory against Erie by a score of 12-20, 20-28, 15-12. The Lady Hubs then lost against Dixon by a score of 22-21, 16-20, 5-15.
Rochelle continued tournament play against Hampshire, falling in three close games (13-20, 20-16, 15-17). The Lady Hubs faced Rock Falls in their final match, losing 8-20, 7-20.
