The Rochelle Hub varsity bowling team topped the 3,000-pin mark for the first time in match play on Monday, but the score wasn’t enough to take down LaSalle-Peru in a 3,582-3,026 loss at T-Byrd Lanes. Senior Devansh Patel fired a team-high 636 series for the Hubs, who dropped to 2-9 overall and 1-5 in the Interstate 8 Conference with the loss.

ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub varsity bowling team topped the 3,000-pin mark for the first time in match play on Monday, but the score wasn’t enough to take down LaSalle-Peru in a 3,582-3,026 loss at T-Byrd Lanes. Senior Devansh Patel fired a team-high 636 series for the Hubs, who dropped to 2-9 overall and 1-5 in the Interstate 8 Conference with the loss.

LaSalle-Peru opened the match with a 1,177-1,069 victory in the first game. Ethan Picco led the Cavaliers with 247 and Chance Hank followed with 215. Patel fired 223 for the Hubs in the first game, while junior Evin Odle rolled a 210 and sophomore Christian Thorne recorded 179.

The Cavaliers surged ahead in the second game, winning 1,249-940 behind 222 from Jake Quick and 216 from Colin Wren. Hank added 218 and Picco scored 210 for LaSalle-Peru, with Odle shooting 201 and Patel totaling 192 to lead the Hubs in the second game.

LaSalle-Peru completed the sweep with a 1,156-1,017 win in the third game. Picco scored 217 to end the match with a 674 series, while Hank rolled 203 to finish with a 636 series. Patel shot 221 for Rochelle and Odle totaled 176 to end the meet with a 587 series.
