BLOOMINGTON — The St. Paul Lutheran School cross country team recently competed at the Lutheran State Championship meet held at Trinity Lutheran School. The Crusader boys finished 14th out of 19 schools in the meet.
Tyler Johnson (sixth grade) placed 27th overall with a time of 13:15 while Joey Chadwick (fifth grade) took 36th with a time of 13:47. Austin Sarver (fourth grade) finished 42nd with a time of 13:56 and Esam Farraj ran a personal-best time of 15:42 for 127th place. Axel Alsop (fifth grade) ran a personal-best time of 18:34 for 161st place.
Two Crusader girls raced at the state meet including Isabella Biggs, who finished with a personal-best time of 20:48, and Hailey Bunger, who ran a personal-best time of 20:55. Johnson was the fifth out of seven JV (third through sixth grade) individual boys to qualify for the national championship meet, which will take place in Concordia, Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 23.
