WATERMAN — Junior Torrin Nantz led the Rochelle Lady Hub varsity basketball team to its second consecutive victory on Wednesday, scoring 10 points as the Lady Hubs knocked off Indian Creek 54-37 in nonconference play. Rochelle improved to 5-6 overall with the win.
“I thought our team was ready to play right from the start,” Nantz said. “Our defense was where we scored most of our points. I thought our press defense was really effective.”
Senior Jordin Dickey and sophomore Alivia Henkel each added eight points for the Lady Hubs, whose 54-point performance was their second-highest scoring output of the season. Rochelle will shoot for its third straight win against the Sycamore Spartans on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
“The win raises my confidence a lot and that helps improve my game,” Nantz said. “When my confidence is down, my game is down, but I think we’re improving a lot as a team. We’re having more fun playing together, we’re gaining more chemistry and we’re building off of each other.”
