SHABBONA — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity soccer team faced Kaneland and Indian Creek on the road this past week, dropping both matches and moving to 0-3 on the season. Rochelle fell 7-0 against the Knights on Wednesday before losing 9-2 to the Timberwolves on Friday. The Lady Hubs will face Morris on Friday, May 7 at 4:30 p.m.
Kaneland
Freshman Danica Ward totaled 11 saves for the Lady Hubs, who were outshot 25-0 in the loss against the Knights. Kaneland pressured Rochelle early, scoring in the seventh, 13th and 19th minutes to take a 3-0 lead in the first half. Goals in the 25th, 28th and 32nd minutes put the match out of reach for the Lady Hubs. Kaneland led 6-0 at halftime and added one final goal in the 58th minute.
Indian Creek
Sophomore Kyra Rimstidt recorded two unassisted goals in the nonconference match against the Timberwolves, while freshman Danica Ward finished with 11 saves. Rochelle totaled 10 shots and seven shots on goal, while Indian Creek compiled 25 shots including 20 shots on goal.
The Timberwolves surged ahead 3-0 after goals in the first, 20th and 24th minutes. Leading 3-0 at halftime, Indian Creek added goals in the 42nd, 58th and 63rd minutes before Rimstidt scored in the 71st minute to help Rochelle avoid the shutout. Rimstidt followed with her second goal in the 74th minute before Indian Creek closed out the match with goals in the 74th, 76th and 80th minutes.
