The Rochelle Lady Hub track and field team continued Interstate 8 Conference competition with a three-team meet with Plano and Ottawa on Tuesday. Plano won the meet with 92 points, while Ottawa took second with 71 points and Rochelle finished third with 48 points. The Lady Hubs (4-7) will face the Oregon Hawks on the road Friday afternoon.

PLANO — The Rochelle Lady Hub track and field team continued Interstate 8 Conference competition with a three-team meet with Plano and Ottawa on Tuesday. Plano won the meet with 92 points, while Ottawa took second with 71 points and Rochelle finished third with 48 points. The Lady Hubs (4-7) will face the Oregon Hawks on the road Friday afternoon.
Junior Liberty Hayes finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.6 seconds and junior Teagan Meyers won the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.9 seconds. Freshman Alivia Henkel claimed the 400-meter dash crown in 1:05, with Meyers clocking in at 1:06 for second. Junior Sara Johnson brought home two victories on Tuesday, winning the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-record time of 19.9 and winning the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:14.
Rochelle finished third in both the 400-meter relay and the 800-meter relay with respective times of 59.7 and 2:19.4. Senior Heidi Cruz took fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:30.4. Senior Afi Gati swept the throwing events on Tuesday, winning the shot put with a distance of 33 feet 9 ¼ inches and claiming the discus crown with a distance of 91 feet 11 ½ inches.
