The Rochelle Hub and Lady Hub track and field teams battled in a five-team nonconference meet at Oregon High School on Friday. The Hubs finished second in the meet with 91.33 points, while the Lady Hubs took third on their side with 73 points. The meet featured Rochelle, Oregon, Manlius (Bureau Valley), Spring Valley (Hall) and Mendota.

OREGON — The Rochelle Hub and Lady Hub track and field teams battled in a five-team nonconference meet at Oregon High School on Friday. The Hubs finished second in the meet with 91.33 points, while the Lady Hubs took third on their side with 73 points. The meet featured Rochelle, Oregon, Manlius (Bureau Valley), Spring Valley (Hall) and Mendota.

Hubs

Junior Zach Sanford took second in the shot put with a distance of 13.24 meters and second in the discus with a distance of 39.23 meters. Junior Ryan Simmons won the high jump competition with a height of 1.77 meters and placed third in the long jump with a distance of 5.34 meters. Junior Luke Orlikowski finished third in the triple jump (10.89 meters) and sophomore Hayden Inman took fourth in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.89 meters.

Rochelle won the 3200-meter relay (Aiden Seldal, Kasey Jones, Hayden Smith and Thomas Koziol) with a time of 10:09.48. The Hubs finished second in the 400-meter relay with a time of 47.49 seconds and the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:42.89. Rochelle took third in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 4:14.50. Inman placed third in the 110-meter hurdles (20.81).

Junior Michael Ramsey finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.92 seconds and junior Ethan Wells placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.72. Freshman Caleb Wyssbrod took third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.88 and Seldal finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.91. Junior Josue Huerta placed fifth in the 1600-meter run (5:46.71) and freshman Luis Pizano took third in the 3200-meter run (13:25.11).

Lady Hubs

Freshman Alivia Henkel and junior Teagan Meyers went first and second in the 400-meter dash with times of 1:02.62 and 1:04.34. Junior Sara Johnson won the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:14.31 and the 3200-meter run with a time of 12:31.10. Junior Liberty Hayes placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.80 and Meyers finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.55. Senior Heidi Cruz took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:22.54.

Rochelle finished fourth in both the 800-meter relay (2:03.66) and the 1600-meter relay (5:28.25). Senior Afi Gati led the Lady Hubs in the throwing events, taking third in the shot put with a distance of 10.20 meters and fourth in the discus with a throw of 28.42 meters. Meyers won the high jump with a clearance of 1.52 meters and Henkel won the pole vault with a height of 2.44 meters. Meyers finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 9.59 meters.
