MAPLE PARK — It’s not always how you start, it’s how you finish.
That was the case for the Lady Hubs bowling team this week, as the girls rebounded from a road loss to the Yorkville Lady Foxes on Tuesday to dominate Kaneland and take all 10 conference points on Wednesday.
The girls fell to Yorkville by a score of 2,940-2,786, with junior Katie Dummer rolling a team-high 571 series behind a 189 in her first game and a match-best 201 in her second game. Junior Carlie Elder added a 522 series supported by a high game of 192, while senior Julia Frye and sophomore Autumn Headon combined for 906 pins in the match.

While the Lady Hubs didn’t top 1,000 pins in any of their three rounds of bowling on Wednesday, the girls knocked down more than enough pins to top Kaneland 2,762-2,427 behind a 629 series and a team-best 264 game from Elder. Dummer added a 514 series and a high game of 214 to help Rochelle score 956 in its final round of games.
Senior Taylor Nobles rolled a 168 in her second game en route to a 434 series, with Frye bowling a 427 series and a 168 in her third and final game. The Lady Hubs will continue their busy week on Thursday with a nonconference match at Lisle.

Juniors Anahi Calderon and Ashley Ramos returned to the junior varsity lineup on Tuesday, with Calderon rolling a team-high 342 series and a high game of 154. Senior Brittany Mickley added a 332 series for the Lady Hubs, while Ramos and sophomore Mya Nelson teamed up for 628 pins. The girls took two points in the match.
The junior varsity girls competed against themselves on Wednesday, as Kaneland did not have enough bowlers to field a team. Mickley rolled a 381 for Rochelle’s high series, with Calderon finishing three pins behind at 378.
