Hospital offering many programs in next two months

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Community Hospital officials have announced several upcoming public events and activities being held over the next two months.
Thursday, Nov. 8
A Medicare Advantage Presentation by Managed Care Partners at Rochelle Community Hospital will be held at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. (two sessions being offered, same information in both) in the RCH Auxiliary Room.
This free presentation will cover making informed decisions about your health coverage, getting ready for open enrollment and what changes you should expect. Register by calling Michelle at 815-561-3110.
Thursday, Nov. 8 & Friday, Nov. 9
Plan to visit the RCH Auxiliary Holiday Bazaar at First Presbyterian Church. Enjoy early bird shopping on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. or Friday, Nov. 9 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Guests will find everything from stocking stuffers to purses, scarves, jewelry, clothing and handmade items. All proceeds go towards the auxiliary’s healthcare scholarships and support of Rochelle Community Hospital.
On Friday only, Cliff’s Donuts will be served from 7 to 9 a.m. The bake sale starts at 7 a.m. until all items are sold and church members will host a luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $8 per person.
Tuesday, Nov. 13
Give blood, give life. A Rock River Valley Blood Center Community Blood Drive will be held at Rochelle Community Hospital from noon to 6 p.m. Make an appointment with Michelle at 815-561-3110. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. Please bring a valid ID and drink plenty of fluids before donating.
Thursday, Dec. 6
An Alzheimer’s presentation by Sue Sklar from the Alzheimer’s Association will be held in the RCH Auxiliary Room from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
This free presentation will cover the relationship between Alzheimer’s and dementia, what happens in the brain, risk factors of the disease, FDA-approved treatments, what’s on the horizon regarding research and helpful Alzheimer’s Association resources.

Thursday, Dec. 27
A Safe Sitter class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the training room. The fee is $35 for the class and materials. Students need to bring a sack lunch. This class teaches boys and girls, ages 11-14, how to handle emergencies when caring for younger children. Register on our website or call registered nurse Donna Trout at ext. 1550.
