St. Paul students have a ‘fun’ run

ROCHELLE — Sunny skies and bright young faces filled Atwood Park early Friday for St. Paul’s third annual Fun Run.
The school-wide event, organized by the PTL (Parent Teacher League) brought the students outside for cardio and strength training activities mixed with plenty of fun. Activity stations such as rope jumping and relays were placed along the trails for the students to participate in.
The event culminated with a carnival later in the day.

Students collected pledges from sponsors, which will be used towards the classroom’s curriculum and supplies.
PTL (Parent Teacher League) member Rhonda Lodico explained this year’s theme is from a bible verse, which was emblazoned on shirts worn by students and staff.
“Our verse is from Phillippians 4:13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Lodico said. “We are very blessed for the weather we are having today.”
The carnival Friday evening featured games, inflatables, a photo booth, a dunk tank and food provided by Ralfie’s BBQ.
“St. Paul would like to thank everyone for their support of our students,” Lodico said. “The church and school families are grateful for the support from the community.”
Along with Lodico, the PTL members include Amy Metzger, Brandi Johnson, Bonnie Sanford, and Kelly Downing.
