Police Reports

On Nov. 19 at approximately 12:31 p.m. deputies responded to the 1,500 block of North Mulford Road, Rochelle, in response to a personal injury accident. After an investigation, it was learned that a gray-colored Toyota driven by Jesse Morales, 44, of Cherry Valley, attempted to overtake a blue-colored Chevrolet hauling a farm implement driven by Scott H Bohne, 34, of Sycamore. The Toyota struck the Chevrolet as the Chevrolet attempted to enter a private drive. Morales was transported to the area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Morales was cited for improper passing. Bohne was cited for no slow-moving vehicle placard. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Rochelle Fire and EMS.

On Nov. 15 at approximately 8:03 p.m. deputies responded to an address in rural Lindenwood for a domestic disturbance.  After an investigation a 16-year-old juvenile was placed under arrest for two counts of domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic battery, and unlawful restraint. The juvenile was transported to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center where he is being held pending an appearance before a judge.

On Nov. 15 at 7:41 a.m. Alva E. Valle, 24, of Rochelle was cited for disobeying a stop sign. She signed a promise to comply and was given a Dec. 20 Rochelle court date.

On Nov. 12 at 11:05 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Illinois Route 72.  Subsequent to the stop, William Hiatt, 60, of Rockford, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and given a citation for no insurance. Hiatt was released on a notice to appear at the scene.

On Nov. 12 at 2:11 a.m. Choson T. Scanlan, 24, of Ashton was cited for revoked registration and speeding 53 in a 30 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Dec. 20 Rochelle court date.

On Nov. 8 at approximately 6 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the 6,500 block of North River Road. After investigation, deputies placed Steven E. Currier, 58, of Oregon under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Currier was also cited for improper lane usage, registration lights, and unlawful possession of cannabis by driver. Currier was issued his citations, released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.

On Nov. 8 at 1:20 p.m.  Susan Carter, 70, of West Brooklyn was cited for speeding 54 in a 35 miles per hour zone. She signed a promise to comply and was given a Dec. 20 Rochelle court date.

On Nov. 3 at approximately 10:40 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon Police Department were involved in a pursuit on a black Ford Fusion. Timothy P. Valdivia Jr., 32, of Oregon, was later arrested and issued the following citations: aggravated fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer - involves disobedience of two or more traffic devices, disregarding an official traffic control device, driving while driver’s license is suspended, failure to signal, operating a vehicle with expired registration, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, reckless driving, suspended registration, and disobeying a stop sign. Valdivia Jr. was issued his citations and given a notice to appear for a future court date.

On Nov. 5 at 7:11 p.m. Kyler Lara, 22, of Rochelle was cited for speeding 60 in a 40 miles per hour zone. He signed a notice to appear and was given a Dec. 13 Rochelle court date.

On Nov. 1 at 5:48 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Rolling Meadows and Illinois Route 251. After a brief investigation, Elicia Palmer, 34, of Rochelle, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for driving while their license was suspended. Palmer was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

On Nov. 1 at 3:19 p.m. Anjolie E. Hall, 19, of Rochelle was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. She was released on a notice to appear with a Dec. 6 Ogle County court date.

On Oct. 30 at approximately 3:20 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of South Freeport Road. After an investigation, deputies arrested Claudio Nicolas-Martinez, 23, of Freeport, for driving without a valid driver's license and speeding. Nicolas-Martinez was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was booked in and released on a notice to appear for his citations.

On Oct. 29 at 9:43 a.m. Alexander D. Szafranski, 35, of Elgin was cited for speeding 100 in a 70 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Dec. 13 Rochelle court date.

On Oct. 25 at approximately 7:49 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North Illinois Route 2.  After investigation, deputies placed Fernando Trujillo-Alpizar, 34, of Rockford under arrest for no valid driver's license, violation of the FOID Act (possession of a weapon), and violation of the FOID Act (possession of ammunition).  Trujillo-Alpizar was additionally issued citations for operation of a vehicle with a suspended registration and operation of an uninsured vehicle.  Trujillo-Alpizar was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.

On Oct. 24 at 10:12 p.m. Jesus M. Estrada Garcia, 44, of Rochelle was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Nov. 15 Rochelle court date.

On Oct. 22 at approximately 2:22 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Freeport Road and Illinois Route 64. After an investigation, deputies arrested Zachary Johnson, 48, of Stockton for driving while license suspended and having an active Lee County warrant. Johnson was additionally issued a citation for speeding. Johnson was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he will remain until he is transported to Lee County. Johnson was given a notice to appear for his citations.

On Oct. 16 at 7:06 a.m. Jennifer Roushia, 24, of Rochelle was arrested for phone harassment. She was released on a notice to appear with a Nov. 22 Ogle County court date.

On Oct. 18 at approximately 11:55 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of North River Road. After further investigation Collins Onyia, 43, of Davenport, Iowa, was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended. Onyia was released on a notice to appear.

On Oct. 17 at 2:31 p.m. Armando Sarabia, 56, of Rochelle was arrested for battery. He was released on a notice to appear with a Nov. 15 Ogle County court date.

On Oct. 15 at approximately 7:44 a.m. deputies responded to the 100 block of Harvest Glenn Drive, Davis Junction, in reference to a physical domestic. After an investigation, a juvenile (age 16) was arrested for domestic battery and transported to Kane County Juvenile Detention Center for future court dates.

On Oct. 14 at 10:41 p.m. David M. Thick, 21, of Mt. Morris was cited for disobeying a traffic control device. He signed a promise to comply and was given a Nov. 15 Rochelle court date.

On Oct. 10 at approximately 7:57 p.m. deputies responded to 120 Dayflower Circle in Davis Junction in reference to a domestic. After investigation, deputies placed Gerald Tyszko, 47, of Davis Junction, under arrest for domestic battery. Tyszko was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for medical reasons not related to the domestic. Tyszko was released from the hospital on Oct. 11 and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.

On Oct. 11 at 3:48 a.m. Trisha Biley, 50, of Rockford was cited for speeding 68 in a 40 miles per hour zone. She signed a promise to comply and was given a Nov. 1 Rochelle court date.

On Oct. 8 at approximately 9 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Illinois Route 2 and West Pines Road. As a result, the driver of the vehicle, Lorenzo Bennett, 22, of Rockford, was arrested for driving while license suspended and for an Ogle County warrant for driving while license suspended. Bennett was also additionally issued citations for a lighting violation and operation of a vehicle with a suspended registration. Additionally, a passenger of the vehicle, Anthony Ezell, 44, of Rockford, was arrested for two Ogle County warrants for theft, and failure to appear for a prior theft charge. The two subjects were transported to the Ogle County Jail and detained on their warrants.

On Oct. 8 at 8:11 a.m. Reema A. Bonilla, 45, of Rochelle was cited for following too closely. She signed a promise to comply and was given a Nov. 1 Rochelle court date.
