On June 13 at approximately 8:18 p.m. deputies responded to the 1,700 block of West Illinois Route 64 regarding a reported two-vehicle collision with unknown injuries.
On June 10 at 7:26 a.m. Javier Montoya, 20, of Elgin was cited for speeding 54 in a 30 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a July 11 Rochelle court date.
On June 10 at 12:54 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East Flagg Road and South Lowden Road. As a result, deputies arrested Shawn Gilmore 32, of Rochelle on a Lee County warrant for failure to appear/contempt. Gilmore was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Gilmore was additionally issued citations for operate a motor vehicle with registration suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
On June 9 at 7:27 p.m. Michael T. Jensky, 33, of Leland was cited for speeding 53 in a 35 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a July 11 Rochelle court date.
On June 6 at approximately 12:02 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of West Blackhawk Drive in Byron. After investigation, deputies placed Jason Leezer, 45, of Loves Park under arrest for driving while license revoked. Leezer was additionally issued citations for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. Leezer was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear.
On June 7 at 10:02 a.m. Gloria Fulgencio, 54, of Rochele was cited for expired registration. She signed a promise to comply and was given a July 11 Rochelle court date.
On June 1 at approximately 10:52 p.m. deputies responded to the 300 block of Misty Meadow Lane in Davis Junction in response to a battery. The victim was transported to Javon Bea Hospital- Riverside by Lynn Scott Rock Fire for apparent injuries. After investigation, Marco A. Garcia-Limon, 43, of Chicago was arrested on June 4 for aggravated battery and domestic battery. Garcia-Limon was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was held pending an appearance before a judge.
On June 2 at 3:57 p.m. Stublla Bajram, 39, of Arlington was cited for disobeying a traffic control device. He signed a promise to comply and was given a June 20 Rochelle court date.
On May 30 at 2:05 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Canal Street and South Clinton Street, Grand Detour. After a brief investigation, Devin Thevenot, 30, of Ashton, was arrested for driving while license suspended. Thevenot was also cited for operating uninsured motor vehicle and suspended registration. Thevenot was released on a notice to appear court date.
On May 30 at 6:53 a.m. Rocio S. Mejia was cited for illegal tint. She signed a promise to comply and was given a June 20 Rochelle court date.
On May 27 at 10:20 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of North Illinois Route 251 and East Dutch Road. After a brief investigation, Teja Murukutla, 22, of DeKalb, was placed under arrest for driving unlicensed. Murukutla was released on a notice to appear with a return court date.
On May 27 at 10:05 a.m. Kevin O. Martin, 42, of Enfield, Connecticut was cited for disobeying a traffic control device. He signed a promise to comply and was given a June 20 Rochelle court date.
On May 23 at approximately 11:28 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop within the 6,000 block of North Kilbuck Road. After investigation, deputies placed Shatira I. Smith, 23, of Freeport, under arrest for driving while license suspended. Smith was additionally cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. Smith was released on scene with a notice to appear in court at a later date.
On May 23 at 12:33 p.m. Anna Sexton, 35, of Rochelle was arrested for driving while license suspended. She signed a promise to comply and was given a June 20 Rochelle court date.
On May 20 at approximately 11:30 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of North River Road. After investigation, deputies placed Erick Heinzmann, 48, of Oregon under arrest for driving while license suspended. Heinzmann was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle. Heinzmann was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.
On May 21 at 9:11 a.m. Jesse W. Thompson, 28, of Pekin was arrested on a Lee County warrant. He paid $251 and was released with a June 26 Lee County court date.
On May 16 at 4:11 p.m. deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident involving a single motorcycle. The motorcycle was traveling northbound in the 2,000 block of North Illinois Route 251 when the driver lost control and entered the east side ditch and struck a culvert. The motorcycle continued north and then struck a utility pole. The driver was taken to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford for serious injuries. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Department, MD 1 Services, and Blackhawk Fire Protection Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation.
On May 17 at 11:19 a.m. Heather E. Harms, 46, of Rochelle was arrested for violation of order of protection and transferred.
On May 12 at approximately 10:38 p.m. deputies responded to a single-vehicle property damage accident at 3720 E. Flagg Road in rural Ashton. After investigation, David C Kmiec, 44, of Rochelle, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. Kmiec was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was also cited for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and expired registration. Kmiec was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date.
On May 12 at 10:16 a.m. Benjamin Cintora, 76, of DeKalb was cited for disobeying a traffic control device. He signed a promise to comply and was given a June 6 Rochelle court date.
On May 9 at approximately 4:59 p.m. deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Maple Avenue. An initial investigation determined a Kia Sportage, driven by Mario A Castro, 31, of Rochelle was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 251 before beginning to turn onto Maple Avenue. A Chevy Suburban, driven by Quinton Horton, 36, of Rockford, struck the Kia on the driver's side of the vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest off the northwest side of the roadway. Castro was later transported to the Rochelle Community Hospital with minor injuries. After further investigation, Horton was placed under arrest for driving while license revoked. Horton was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he was released on a notice to appear and given a future court date. Horton was additionally cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Ogle County deputies were assisted by Rochelle EMS.
On May 7 at 7:13 a.m. David A. Bruce, 61, of New Lenox was cited for speeding 50 in a 30 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a June 6 Rochelle court date.
On May 6 at approximately 6:28 a.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Montague Road and Rock City Road. After an investigation Erik E. Peterson, 47, of German Valley, was arrested for driving with a revoked Illinois driver's license. Peterson was also cited for operating a vehicle with no insurance and an equipment violation. Peterson was transported to the Ogle County Jail for processing. Peterson was released on a notice to appear bond.
On May 6 at 12:46 p.m. Jarid G. Zies, 32, of Rochelle was cited for speeding 75 in a 55 miles per hour zone. He signed a promise to comply and was given a June 6 Rochelle court date.
On May 2 at 6:51 p.m. deputies and Polo EMS/Fire were dispatched to the area of 13,000 West Canada Road in rural Polo for the report of an ATV accident. After an investigation, a 15-year-old male juvenile from Polo was found to be traveling west bound in the 13,000 block of West Canada Road on an ATV with a 13-year-old male juvenile passenger from Polo, before losing control on the gravel road. A 17-year-old male juvenile was following the ATV on a dirt bike. The 15-year-old male driver was transported to OSF Saint Katharine’s Medical Center in Dixon by Polo EMS for his injuries. The 13-year-old male juvenile passenger was not injured. The 17-year-old male juvenile was issued a citation for no valid driver’s license, and was released to a parent. The crash remains under investigation.
